Burkhard Heim

Burkhard Ludwig Christian Alexander Heim ( born February 9, 1925 in Potsdam, † January 14, 2001 in Northeim ) was a German physicist. His main work is considered the attempt to formulate a unified field theory. Home no published rigorous elaboration of his theory. It was almost not discussed in the physical literature. His ideas were received in esoteric and pseudo-scientific publications.

Life

Burkhard Heim was the son of a bank official Heinrich Heim (* 1890, † 1964) and his wife Marie, born Warneboldt (* 1896, † 1985) was born. In 1943 he passed the Abitur in Berlin from, after he completed the Reich Labour Service and in October of the same year he was drafted into the Wehrmacht. Later he was assigned to produce explosives for the chemical- technical Reichsanstalt. In this capacity, he lost in May 1944 during a severe explosion both hands, which is why the Krukenberg plastic was applied to him. In this accident Burkhard Heim also suffered a severe injury to the eyesight and hearing. After several operations he began in 1946 with the support of his family at the University of Göttingen to study chemistry, and in 1949 a degree in physics. He married in 1950 Gerda Elisabeth Hildegard Straube ( * 1922, † 2006), a former concert singer.

His thesis (hydro - and thermodynamic and spectroscopic studies of the Filamentensystem of NGC 1952) wrote Burkhard Heim about the physical processes in the Crab Nebula Supernova ( Supernova in 1054 ) and received in 1954 his Diploma in physics with Professors Carl Friedrich von Weizsäcker and Richard Becker. Subsequently, he worked in the research group of CF von Weizsäcker at the Max Planck Institute for Physics in Göttingen. He left this, however, soon to work on a unified field theory.

In 1958 Burkhard Heim founded together with Helmut Göckel the "Research Institute for Dynamic contrabary and Astronautics eV", which he headed. Once home had fallen out with Göckel However, the club was disbanded in 1964 and by the foundation " German Research Institute for force-field physics and cosmology General eV" replaced with headquarters in Northeim. ( † 2011 * 1940) as adopted daughter in the family In September 1971, the couple took home Ingrid Hartung.

Theory

Home worked since the late 1940s on a theory for the origin of gravitational waves. Home tried, along with the aircraft engineer Hans -Dietrich Goslich to build an experimental arrangement, which he called " counterpoint Bator ". With this experimental setup home wanted to absorb electromagnetic centimeter waves, converted into gravitational waves and thus affect the gravity. A 1958 article published in the mirror mentioned " Gravity experts ...", who argued that "... home overestimated the effectiveness of its arrangement much a million times ." In addition, the article criticizes that it " has not even managed ( is ) to explain his theories plausible ."

The published of home even parts of the theory are incomplete and contradictory. Experiments of his colleague and successor Walter Dröscher to present the theory rigorously were evaluated by the mathematician Gerhard W. Bruhn as useless as an extension of the general theory of relativity, since they start out with a flat instead of curved spacetime.

In the established sciences home approaches are considered most in discussion forums or on private sites. Outside of science home work is rezipiert in private research groups and journals. In 2009 mentioned an article in the popular science magazine New Scientist home as a marginal physicist whose ideas were never subjected to peer review and will be rejected by most modern physicists as incomprehensible.

Although the approaches Burkhard Heim play no role in science, presented Walter Dröscher and Jochem houses Heim's theory and an extension (Extended Home Theory) since 2003 sporadically on some conferences in the U.S., such as the Joint Propulsion Conferences of the AIAA and the SPESIF and STAIF conferences before.

Others

The artist Jean Cocteau painted in the late 1950s in a hall of the exhibition Terre et Cosmos in Paris a fresco and called it the " Inner Eye of home ".

In April 2011, the fire department barg 35 kg chemicals from the basement of the former residential house of Burkhard Heim in Northeim. In June 2012, the city of Northeim has published an overview of the estate of Burkhard Heim.
