Burma Chronicles

Records from Burma (French Chroniques Birmanes ) is a graphic novel of the Canadian cartoonist Guy Delisle, who reported from his experiences in Burma. It is his third such plant to Shenzhen and Pyongyang.

Content

Guy Delisle accompanied his wife Nadége who works at Doctors Without Borders, Burma. It is also their son Louis. So Delisle spends his time at first mainly with the education, later he finds more time to observe his surroundings and draw. So he told in short episodes of the adventures of a young father, the encounters with the foreign culture and the adversities in the military dictatorship.

Publication

The comic was published in 2007 in France by Delcourt. It was followed by a German translation in May 2009 Reprodukt as well as an English by Drawn and Quarterly.

Reception
