Bursaspor

Bursaspor is a Turkish football club from the city of Bursa.

The club was founded on June 1, 1963 from a merger of the clubs Akinspor, Acaridmanyurdu, Celikspor, Istiklal and Pinarspor. The club colors are green and white. On the crest of Bursaspor five stars are shown, representing the five clubs that have united symbolize. The first president of the club's history was Kiracibasi Salih, the first captain Hüseyin Saitoglu and the first coach Muhtar Tucaltan. In the season 1966/67, Bursaspor was in Türkiye Ligi İkinci ( Lig A), the second division in Turkey, Master. Okan Yılmaz ( season 2000/ 01 and 2002/ 03) and Bakhtiyar Yorulmaz ( 1979/ 80) were playing for Bursaspor scorers in the first Turkish league. In the 2009/10 season, Bursaspor was in the club's History of Turkish champions for the first time.

Bursa Ataturk Stadium

When Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, founder of Turkey, in 1930, visited Bursa, he had a stadium with a capacity of 400 seats build. Because one was happy with the first stadium in Bursa, called the stadium ado " Bursa Ataturk Stadium ." In 1950, field and bleachers were replaced. It offers 25 456 spectators today. In addition to the Ataturk Stadium in Bursa, there is also the Merinos Stadium with a smaller capacity of 4,500 seats. Amateur clubs playing at the Hippodrome and on the velodrome site. Bursaspor in European competitions

In the season 1974/75 Bursaspor was allowed to start for the European Cup Winners' Cup. In the first round, the club won at home against Finn Harps 4-2 and played in Ireland 0-0. In the second round they won after a 0-0 draw in the first leg against Dundee United from Scotland, the second leg 1-0. In the quarter- final against Dynamo Kiev in the former Soviet Union ( now Ukraine) is lost with 0:1 and 0:2 and retired. Dynamo Kiev won after the tournament.

In the 1986/87 season Bursa played in the first round of the European Cup Winners' Cup against Ajax Amsterdam and lost in the home match with 0:2; the return match ended 0:5. Ajax won after the tournament.

In the 1995/1996 season took place for the first time, the UEFA Intertoto Cup. Bursaspor participated and was one of the first clubs in general, which competed in this competition. The team was a group drawn against FC Wimbledon, Sporting Charleroi, Beitar Jerusalem and MFK Kosice. Bursaspor won first place. In the second round they won against OFI Crete in Greece. In the quarterfinals, they ran against Karlsruher SC from Germany. After 90 minutes it was 2-2, in extra time led Bursaspor 3-2, but the KSC possible to 3:3 from. In the penalty shoot-out Karlsruher SC prevailed 9-8.

In the 2010/11 season Bursaspor was first allowed to start for the Champions League, they were drawn in a group with Manchester United, Valencia CF and Glasgow Rangers. Bursaspor took only one point in the tournament ( Bursaspor 1-1 Rangers ).

2011/12 it was first eligible to participate in the Europa League qualification. Bursaspor beat the Belarusian FK Gomel 2-1 in the home game and 3-1 in Gomel. In the play-off round against RSC Anderlecht is lost with 1:2 and 2:2 played away. In both games, Bursaspor had each scored the opening goal. So you dropped out prematurely.

In the 2012/13 season, Bursaspor was qualified for the Europa League. The first opponent KuPS Kuopio in Finland, they lost 0-1; Bursaspor won the return match 6-0 and moved into the play -offs. My opponent was FC Twente from the Netherlands. Both games ended 3-1 for the home side; in the return match Twente scored in extra time and the 4:1 Bursaspor retired.

For the 2013/14 season, Bursaspor plays in the Europa League. You start from the third qualifying round, but failed with a total of 2:5 in the Serbian representatives Vojvodina Novi Sad.

Fans

Bursaspor is supported by one of the largest groups of supporters of Turkey. For a long time the members of the group known as the most dangerous hooligans in the country, but this has changed dramatically in recent years.
