Burtonport

Burton Port ( Irish: Ailt an Chorráin ) is a small harbor town with 270 inhabitants ( 2006) in the Rosses in County Donegal in the northwest of the Republic of Ireland. Burton Port is an independent Gaeltacht; Ailt an Chorráin is the official name of the place. The nearest major town is Dungloe ( An Clochán Liath ).

Major employers in the city are the fishermen " Burtonport Fishermen 's Co- op" and " board Iascaigh Mhara ". Between 1903 and 1940, Burtonport was connected to a regional railway network.
