Gerald "Buster " Dempsey Posey ( born March 27, 1987 in Leesburg, Georgia) is an American baseball player in the major leagues. He plays as a catcher with the San Francisco Giants.
Career
After Posey in the baseball team of the Florida State University, the Florida State Seminoles had played, he was selected by the Giants in MLB Draft 2008 in the first round as the fifth player ever. In August 2008 he signed a contract with the Giants and received a bonus of 6.2 million U.S. dollars - the highest bonus, which has been in the history of MLB Drafts ever paid. In the 2009 season he played in the farm system of the Giants in the Minor Leagues. After an injury of Bengie Molina, he was appointed September 2, 2009 the Team of the Giants and made his debut in the MLB on September 11.
The 2010 season began Posey at Triple -A Fresno Grizzlies team. On May 29, he was appointed to the Team of the Giants first played as a first baseman. For his services in July 2010, he was named Player of the Month and Rookie of the Month as the National League. After the Giants Molina had transferred to the Texas Rangers, he took over in early August, the task of starting catcher. With the Giants, he entered the World Series in 2010 and won it against the Texas Rangers. For his achievements throughout the season, he was named Rookie of the Year in the National League.
