Butch Hartman

Elmer Earl " Butch" Hartman IV ( born January 10, 1965 in Highland Park, Michigan) is an animator, director, screenwriter, executive producer, storyboard artist and producer. He invented the animated series The Fairly OddParents - Fairly OddParents, Danny Phantom and TUFF Puppy.

Childhood

Hartman spent his childhood in Roseville, Michigan, and his youth in New Baltimore, Michigan. In his youth, he was nicknamed Butch, he used even as an adult. In 1983 he studied at the Anchor Bay High School, and later attended the California Institute of the Arts.

Early career

During his time at the California Institute of the Arts Hartman was given the opportunity to participate as an animator on the film An American Tail walkers. After graduating, he was hired as a character designer for the animated series My Little Pony. Later he worked with in the animated series Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, Captain N and Gadget Boy. Hartman was among other things, director and storyboard artist for several Hanna -Barbera Productions. These included Dexter's Laboratory, Cow and Chicken and Johnny Bravo. After he had terminated his contract with Hanna- Barbera, Hartman produced by Fred Seibert the Oh Yeah! Cartoons. With Seth MacFarlane, he designed the short film Zoomates. Hartman lives in Bell Canyon, California, with his wife and two daughters (as of 2008).
