BÅ«tingÄ— oil terminal
The oil terminal Būtingė is a terminal for the loading and unloading of petroleum Būtingė on the Baltic Sea coast, near the Lithuanian- Latvian border. It is managed by the Lithuanian company ORLEN Lietuva. It is SPM terminal (single point mooring ). Tankers go to SMP (single point mooring buoy ), 7.5 km from the lakeshore ( Lage56.04644520.960125 ).
History
From 1993, planned a predecessor of the current AB ORLEN Lietuva, AB Nafta to build a terminal. 1995 AB Būtingės nafta was founded and in the group AB Mažeikių nafta (now ORLEN Lietuva ) have been incorporated into the reorganization of the Lithuanian oil industry in 1998. On 22 July 1999, the terminal was opened.
By 2006, primarily Russian Urals oil ( REBCO ) was exported from the terminal. To May 2011, we operated 700 tankers ..
