Butler County (Alabama)

The Butler County is a county located in the state of Alabama in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Greenville, which bore the name Butt Ville establishing time.

Geography

The County in southern Alabama, is located about 70 km from Florida and has an area of ​​2015 square kilometers, of which three square miles are water. History

Butler County was formed on December 13, 1819 from parts of Conecuh County and Montgomery County. It was named after Captain William Butler, a soldier in the Indian War from 1813 to 1814.
