Butler County (Kansas)

Butler County is a county located in the state of Kansas in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is El Dorado.

Geography

The County is located in the central south-east of Kansas, is located in the south about 50 miles from Oklahoma and has an area of ​​3746 square kilometers, of which 48 square kilometers are water surface. History

Butler County was formed on 30 August 1855 as original county of free territory and is one of the first 33 counties that were formed by the first territorial administration. It was named after Andrew Butler, a U.S. Senator from South Carolina.
