Butler County (Nebraska)

The Butler County is a county located in the U.S. state of Nebraska. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat), David City, which was named after William David of Marion, a landowner from Ohio.

History

The Butler County was formed in 1857 on a portion of the now-defunct Greene County area. It was named after William Orlando Butler apparently, who was nominated in 1855 as governor of the Nebraska Territory, the office but refused.
