Butriptylin is a drug from the group of tricyclic antidepressants. From the mechanism of action is similar to amitriptyline. But it will at the same dose develop effective antidepressant effect as amitriptyline, without having undesirable effects. The maximum effect (Tmax ) is deployed to 2.6 ( unretardiert ) to 7.5 ( retarded ) h. The half-life is 20 h, independent of the retardation.
