BV4.1 (software)

The application software BV4.1 is geared towards ease of use tool for component decompositions (see methods of time series analysis ) and seasonal adjustment of monthly and quarterly economic time series with the Berlin method, version BV4.1. It was developed by the Federal Statistical Office and is available for non- commercial applications as freeware available.

Features of the software

The software BV4.1 has the following essential features:

• System Requirements: Windows PC (Windows NT 4.0 / Windows 98).
• Support the input and output formats, Excel, Access, SQL server and CSV.
• User-friendly graphical user interface.
• Analyzes of monthly and quarterly series.
• Possibility of mass production of components decompositions and seasonal adjustments.
• Possibility of graphical display of analysis results.
• Possibility of performing successive analyzes, that is, from analyzes in which the analysis periods are successively extended by a period of observation. This option is useful if revisions are to be investigated by analysis results, which are due to the method BV4.1.
