Bwiam is a village in the West African nation of Gambia.

According to a calculation for 2013 there live about 4163 inhabitants, the result of the last published census in 1993 was 1851.

Geography

Bwiam is located in the West Coast region, district Foni Kansala, about 62 kilometers east of Brikama and about 28 kilometers west of Kalagi away. The city is situated on the South Bank Road and benefits from the long-distance traffic on the main highway in the Gambia. After Kanilai, the birthplace of President Yahya Jammeh, there are only about ten kilometers to the south-east.

Culture and sights

Between Bwiam and Bondali a sacred tree as a place of worship under the name Kanjendi is known.
