Bwisi (also Ibwisi and Mbwisi ) is a Bantu language and is spoken by about 4250 people in the Republic of Congo and Gabon ( census 2000).
It is in the Republic of Congo in the region Niari in the district Kibangou with about 3020 speakers in Gabon and widespread in the province of Nyanga to Ndende on the border with the Republic of Congo with about 1230 speakers.
Classification
Bwisi is a Northwest Bantu language and is part of the Sira Group, which is classified as Guthrie Zone B40.
