Bygdin

The Bygdin is a lake in the Norwegian province (county ) Oppland. It is located southeast of the Jotunheimen Mountains, just outside the national park.

The lake is long and narrow, the east-west extent is 25 km. In contrast to the northern emerald Gjende the Bygdin has no inflows of glaciers, which means that its color is deep blue.

Together with the Vinstri Lake and the lake Tyin he is one of the largest lakes in the Valdres region. It is regulated by a dam at the east end and the height varies between 1048 m and 1058 m.
