Byggvir
Byggvir is a nightmare from the Nordic mythology. The only written evidence of Byggvir found in Lokasenna the songs Edda, where he is described among other things as a servant of Freyr as well as the husband of Bejla.
Bygg is the Old Norse word for barley, which is why he probably corresponds to the Beowa from the Anglo-Saxon religion.
Lokasenna
In Lokasenna Loki expresses disparagingly about Byggvir:
Verse 43:
Verse 44:
Verse 45:
Verse 46:
Based on the statements of Loki in Lokasenna, it is assumed that Byggvir and Bejla are personifications of agriculture. These spoke Freyr: Bejla is the manure, loosening up the soil and the seed brings to grow, and Byggvir is the chaff that is obtained in grinding grain.
