Byrle Klinck

Wayne Melville " Byrle " Klinck ( born June 20, 1934 in Elmira, Ontario ) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player.

Career

Byrle Klinck began his career as a hockey player with the Kitchener Green Shirts, for which he was active from 1952 to 1954 in the Ontario Junior Hockey Association. In the season 1953/54, he also played a game at senior level for the Montreal Royals of the Quebec Hockey League. The season 1954/55 he spent at the Toledo Mercurys from the professional International Hockey League. He was then obliged by the amateur team Kitchener-Waterloo Dutchmen, which he represented Canada at the Olympic Winter Games 1956. Following the tournament the defender played a year for the Stratford Indians, before he again ran aground in the season 1957/58 for the Kitchener- Waterloo Dutchmen. There, however, he only played seven times, so he paused for a year with ice hockey. From 1959 to 1961 he joined the Regina Caps in the Saskatchewan Senior Hockey League game. From 1961 to 1968 he stood for the Woodstock Athletics on the ice. From 1968 to 1970 he played for the Oakville Oaks, before he ended his career at the age of 36 years.

Internationally

For Canada Klinck took part in the Winter Olympics 1956 in Cortina d' Ampezzo, where he won the bronze medal with his team.
