After two seasons in Los Angeles Dafoe moved to the 1997/98 season to the Boston Bruins and became the undisputed number 1 The five years in Boston were certainly the best in his career after the 2001/ 02 season he moved to the Atlanta Thrashers. Here he could not properly enforce against the goalkeeper Pasi Nurminen and was also thrown into his second and final season in 2003/ 04 due to a mild concussion temporarily out of the race.
