Byron Guamá

Byron Guamá Patricio de la Cruz ( born June 14, 1985 in San Isidro, Carchi ) is an Ecuadorian cyclist. Guamá denies both rail and road races.

Career

In 2003, he won jointly with the Pan-American Navarrete Segundo Youth Championships in the discipline Madison. With the same partner, he also participated in the Pan American Games in Brazil in 2007. In addition, he has represented his country in the team pursuit at various international competitions.

In road cycling he reached the victory in the overall standings of the stage race Vuelta a Ecuador as the first big success in 2004. The next year he won a stage there and in 2006 he scored twice. He also won a stage of the 2006 Vuelta a Guatemala. 2007 Guama was national champion in the road race and later, he won one each stage at the Vuelta a Guatemala and at the Vuelta a Ecuador. In the Pan Games in 2007, he finished in twelfth place in the road race.

After he finished 10th in the year-end rankings in the UCI America Tour in 2008, he went from 1 October 2008 for the Mexican Continental Team Canel 's Turbo Mayordomo. In the 2009 season, he takes for the Spanish team Burgos Monumental- Castilla y León.
