Byron Scott

Byron Anton Scott ( born March 28, 1961 in Ogden, Utah) is an American basketball coach and former player. He played 1983-1997 in the North American professional league NBA, with the Los Angeles Lakers, Indiana Pacers and Vancouver Grizzlies. He is best known for his time with the Lakers, where he was on the side of Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul- Jabbar and James Worthy three NBA championships (1985, 1987, 1988 ) to win. 1984 Scott was appointed to the NBA All- Rookie Team. In 1997, Scott finally for one year to Panathinaikos Athens to Greece, with which he was able to win the championship.

Before the NBA season 2000/ 01 Scott was hired by the New Jersey Nets as a head coach. Thanks to the commitment of Jason Kidd succeeded in the 2001/ 02 and 2002/ 03 season the finals, where the Nets but against the Lakers (2002) and Spurs (2003) documents. After a moderate start to the season 2003/ 04 ( 22-20 ) Scott was fired by the Nets. He was replaced by Lawrence Frank. In 2004, Scott as successor to Tim Floyd as coach with the New Orleans Hornets, a position he held until November 2009. From the 2010/2011 season he coached the Cleveland Cavaliers. At the end of the season 2012/2013 Scott was fired by the Cavaliers after the team under his leadership in any given year could reach the play -offs.
