Byron Talbot

Byron Talbot ( born September 15, 1964 in Johannesburg ) is a former South African tennis player who was largely successful in doubles.

Life

Talbot was a professional tennis player in 1988 and reached the same year at the Challenger tournament in Johannesburg the semifinals. The following year he was with Brad Pearce in the doubles final of the ATP tournament of Schenectady. In 1992, he was able to win again with Pearce, his first doubles title on the ATP World Tour. Throughout his career, he won seven ATP doubles titles, he stood six more times in a double finals. Its highest listing in the tennis world ranking he reached in 1989 with position 229 in single and in 1996 with position 20 in doubles.

He could only qualify once for the main draw of a Grand Slam tournament in singles, but resigned in 1989 in the first round of the Australian Open from. In the doubles competition, he reached in 1993 with Rikard Bergh the semifinals of Wimbledon, but they lost to eventual tournament winners Grant Connell and Patrick Galbraith in three sets.
