Byrrh

Byrrh is a bittersweet, the color to bright red French aperitif with about 17 vol - %. It is a mixture of red wine (usually from the Carignan grape ), flavored with tonic water, extracts of cinchona and certain spices from the Languedoc-Roussillon region and international spices such as cinnamon, bitter orange peel, gentian, chamomile, Kalumba, coffee and cocoa. Byrrh was first also still produced in the second half of the 19th century and by the Byrrh Brewery in Thuir ( Roussillon ). In addition Byrrh finds use in many cocktails or mixed drinks (eg Byrrh cocktail, Byrrh - gin, Byrrh - Rye ).
