BZN

BZN, an acronym for Zonder Naam band ( in German: band without a name ), is one of the most successful pop groups from the Netherlands. It was founded in 1966 in Edam- Volendam Jan Veerman (vocals ), Jan Tuijp ( bass), Gerrit Woestenburg, Evert Woestenburg and Cees Tol ( guitar).

History

Since its inception BZN published more than 60 albums. 26 of which reached platinum status in the Netherlands.

After moderate initial success with instrumental, later with Hard Rock managed the big breakthrough only in 1976 with the Dutch number -one hit "Mon amour" and the published end of 1977 album "Making a Name". From the beginning of occupation only January Tuijp and Cees Tol were there were added in January Keizer ( first drummer, later singer ), Thomas Tol and singer Annie Schilder. The occupation changed over the years again and again, so Annie Schilder left the group in 1983 and was replaced by Carola Smit. 1988 came after the departure of the brothers Cees Tol & Thomas ( himself successfully with the 1990 hit " Eleni " ) Dick Plat and Dirk van der Horst added. Due to a serious illness, the group, the late Dirk van der Horst left in 2004 and was replaced by John Mayer. In June 2007, took place the "Final Tour", the farewell concert was on June 16 in Rotterdam.

Under the direction of producer Roy Beltman they created in that time until today the successful Palingsound.
