C/2007 W1 (Boattini)

C/2007 W1 ( Boattini ) is a comet that was discovered by the Italian astronomer Andrea Boattini on recordings of the Mount Lemmon Survey on 20 November 2007.

With its discovery in the border area of the constellations Virgo and Leo, he had an apparent brightness of 18 mag. On 12 June 2008 the comet passed the perigee of its orbit (0.21 AU) and on 24 June 2008, he went through the perihelion at 0.85 AU distance from the Sun, where he its maximum brightness of about 5 mag reached.
