Criticism of the Cabbage Soup Diet

The weight reduction is due to the fact that in this diet a low calorie food is consumed. In addition, a lot of water is excreted and degraded muscle mass. Because this diet too little protein is ingested, the body is forced, however, to gain the vital protein by degradation of muscle mass. Since little fat is broken down and the customer often does not learn is permanently balanced and low in calories to feed, diet, success is often short-lived. Rapid subsequent weight gain, known as yo- yo effect, therefore, is likely.

The one-sided diet, this diet is based, is rejected by nutritionists and doctors and considered unsuitable for permanent weight loss. A permanent diet of only cabbage soup would lead to malnutrition. Antje Gahl of the German Nutrition Society does not recommend this diet from: "Such a severe weight loss in a short time is a health risk. The supply of some important nutrients, especially the protein is deficient. "Scientific is also questionable what substances in the coal would boost fat burning.
