Cabedelo is a city and a municipality ( município ) in the state of Paraíba, Brazil. Cabedelo has an area of ​​31.42 km ². The city has the only sea port in the state. The city is located on a peninsula in the immediate vicinity of the state capital of João Pessoa ( Região Metropolitana ). Many citizens of the capital Cabedelo and its surroundings on the river Rio Paraíba be used as a recreational area.

History

The town was founded already in 1580, at that time still belonged to the municipality Cabedelo ( município ) of João Pessoa. On March 17, 1908 Cabedelo received city rights in 1957 and became a separate district Cabedelo ( município ) and thus independent of João Pessoa.

Economy

Cabedelo has the largest sea port in the state of Paraíba was opened in 1908. From here, the exports go into all the world.
