Cabedelo is a city and a municipality ( município ) in the state of Paraíba, Brazil. Cabedelo has an area of ​​31.42 km ². The city has the only sea port in the state. The city is located on a peninsula in the immediate vicinity of the state capital of João Pessoa ( Região Metropolitana ). History

The town was founded already in 1580, at that time still belonged to the municipality Cabedelo ( município ) of João Pessoa. On March 17, 1908 Cabedelo received city rights in 1957 and became a separate district Cabedelo ( município ) and thus independent of João Pessoa.
