Cabudare is a town in the Venezuelan state of Lara. It is the administrative seat of the district Palavecino. Cabudare is gradually becoming a satellite town of Barquisimeto.

Geography
Geographical location
Cabudare located in the southeast of the Venezuelan state of Lara. It is located on 10.01 degrees north latitude and 69.15 degrees west longitude in the interior of Venezuela and in the immediate vicinity of Barquisimeto. The Turbio - or Cabudarefluss is on the outskirts of the city.
Geology
Cabudare extends over alluvium of the Quaternary.

The main areas of the city are Los Naranjos, Santa Bárbara, Chucho Briceño, La Mata, Hondo Valle, Las Mercedes, La Alfarería, Barrio Paraiso, El Paraíso, Los Frailes and La Puerta.
History
There is no exact information on the founding of Cabudare. The place for the first time on the occasion of a visit of Bishop Mariano Martí in Barquisimeto in March, 1779.
During the Wars of Independence several battles took place in the area. So the troops marched under the leadership of Simón Bolívar Cabudare against Barquisimeto in October 1813. 1814 had the independence forces led by Urdaneta on the Cabudarefluss by the Spaniards to flee.
Economy
Agriculture is the main engine of the region. Sugarcane cultivation and cattle breeding are particularly important.
Policy
Mayor of the municipality is Palavecino Jose Barreras of the MUD ( Mesa de la Unidad Democrática ). He scored in the municipal elections of 2013 Cabudare 65.26 % of the vote. In the local parliament, the MUD all representatives.
