Cachapoal River

The Río Cachapoal is a river in central Chile in the Region VI Región del Libertador General Bernardo O'Higgins.

The Río Cachapoal springs north of the 4008 meter high mountain in the Andes Yeso. The river flows from the Río Cortaderal, Río Blanco and Río Coya. He reached the large thermal springs Termas de Cauquenes and then flows through the capital of the region, Rancagua. Finally, it flows in the 80 -acre reservoir Lago Rapel.

History

The Incas settled near Rancagua at a place called Copequén. This settlement was subject to the Inca in Cuzco. 1580, the Spaniards decided to start with the doctrine of Rancagua, a city.

Economy

The area around the Río Cachapoal is heavily influenced by agriculture. Are grown mainly grapes, apples, sunflowers, tobacco, tomatoes and corn.
