Cael Sanderson

Cael Norman Sanderson ( born June 20, 1979 in Salt Lake City, Utah ) is a former American professional wrestler.

Career

Cael Sanderson began at the Wasatch High School in Heber, Utah, together with his three brothers with the rings. There he was trained by his father Steve. In 1997 he began studies at Iowa State University and was a very successful freestyle wrestler in higher education. He won several NCAA Championships at the state level and at the federal level. His record in these battles was 159:0.

At the international wrestling mat he gave at the Junior World Championships ( Cadets ) in 1994 in Frankfort (Illinois ) by winning a bronze medal in the class up to 55 kg body weight its debut. As a senior, he was the first time at the World University Championships 2000 in Tokyo at the start and was in the middleweight division before the Iranian Majid Khodaee students world champion. At the U.S. Olympic excretion ( Trials ) in 2000, he failed to Mike Van Arsdale and the United States Championship this year, he had to give up injured against Ray Brinzen.

In the next few years, he was now prepared also a member of Sunkist Kids Wrestling Club, one of the best U.S. American Ring Sport clubs, coached by Bobby Douglas specifically for the 2004 Olympic Games. As early as 2003 it became apparent that this project could succeed, for Cael was this year runner-up in the middleweight division behind Saschid Saschidow from Russia. In 2001, however, he had a mishap when he kuiz as the winner of the World Championship Trials before the World Cup had a thigh injury. Also in 2002, he was unable to attend the World Cup, because the United States to the World Championships in Tehran sent no team.

At the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens Cael managed with wins over Magomed Kuruglijew, Kazakhstan, Sergei Borchenko, Belarus, Majid Khodaee, Iran, Yoel Romero Palacio, Cuba and a 3-1 over Moon Eui- jae of South Korea to Olympic gold medal in the middleweight class.

After the 2004 Olympics Cael Sanderson succeeds by Bobby Douglas as head coach at Iowa State University.
