Caemi

Caemi is a former mining companies from Brazil, based in Rio de Janeiro. The company was listed on the financial index IBOVESPA. 2006 Caemi was acquired by Companhia Vale do Rio Doce ( CVRD ).

Caemi owns iron ore mines in the so-called Iron Quadrangle region in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais and Kaolinitminen the company CADAM and PPSA in the northern Brazilian states of Amapá and Pará.

In addition, the company has interests in logistics company MRS Logistica, which operates a railway network in the southeastern part of Brazil, and is the owner of the iron ore mining company Minerações Brasileiras Reunidas SA (MBR ) and thus the owner of the largest iron ore loading terminal in Brazil's state of Rio de Janeiro (State) on the island of Ilha da Madeira at Sepetiba. Caemi was until the end of the 90's also co-owner of Jari, the largest "floating" cellulose factories Amazonia until it was taken over in 2000 by the Grupo Orsa.

On 31 March 2006 Caemi was acquired by Companhia Vale do Rio Doce ( CVRD ).
