Properties

Cesium bromide is colorless, cubic crystals and is soluble in water. It has a red-violet flame coloration. It is soluble in lower alcohols. How cesium chloride and cesium iodide crystallizes in the cubic Caesiumchloridstruktur in the space group with the lattice parameters a = 4.2953 Å.

Use

Caesiumbromidkristallen from windows and prisms are manufactured for the FIR and IR spectroscopy as well as for the scintillation counter.
