Caesiumchromat is a chemical compound of the substance group of chromates. Is the cesium salt of chromic acid. The compound is a toxic, yellow powder.

Production and representation

Caesiumchromat can be obtained by the reaction of cesium with chromium ( VI) oxide.

Also possible is the preparation by reaction of Caesiumdichromat with barium hydroxide.

Properties

Caesiumchromat crystallizes in the orthorhombic crystal system, space group Pnma with the lattice parameters a = 8.43 Å, b = 6.30 Å and c = 11.20 Å and four formula units per unit cell.
