Cafayate

Cafayate is the capital of the departments Cafayate in Salta Province in northwestern Argentina. It is located in the Calchaquíes in the southwest of the province at an altitude of 1,683 meters, located 1329 km from Buenos Aires and 189 km from Salta. Cafayate is one of the fast growing municipalities in the province of Salta and counted in the last census 11,785 inhabitants (2001, INDEC ). History

Origin of the name
