Cage the Elephant

Cage the Elephant is an American rock band from Bowling Green, Kentucky.

Band History

At the beginning of the band, the brothers Matt and Brad Shultz and Jared Champion, who already knew each other from school stood. Later came Parish guitarist and bassist Tichenor it. The five first played only in their home in the state of Kentucky, before they came to a gig at the South -By- South -West Festival in Texas. There she attracted so much attention that not only nationwide appearances followed, especially in London one was interested in the rock band.

The five musicians in the fall of 2007 in the British capital. In no time they recorded their debut album, bearing the band's name as the title. After their third single release Is not No Rest for the Wicked was entered in June 2008 in the British Top 40, it was followed by the album in the charts.

Although their debut album reached only number 67, but remained one and a half years in the charts and established them in the U.S.. The second studio album " Thank You, Happy Birthday " was released on January 11, 2011 and increased this time a immediately ranked 2 on the Billboard 200.

In October 2009, Is not No Rest for the Wicked was used as the theme song of the PC and console game Borderlands.
