Caius Bruttius Praesens

After an initially slow senatorial career Bruttius was sponsored by Hadrian. Previously, he was triumvir capitalis, tribunus laticlavius ​​and quaestor in an unknown province. His wife was Laberia Crispina. To 114 he was honored as legate of Legio VI Ferrata in the Parthian war. After Hadrian's takeover Bruttius was appointed governor of Cilicia. In 118 or 119 he was consul for the first time, 121-124, he was legate of Cappadocia and 124-128 of the Roman province of Moesia inferior ( Niedermösien ). He was proconsul of Africa, where he two equestrian statues were erected. Then he received a special mission in Syria ( 138). In the year 139 Bruttius was consul for the second time.
