Cal Islet

Ilhéu da Cal, often referred to as Ilhéu de Baixo is a small, uninhabited island in the Portuguese autonomous region of Madeira.

Geography

The island is located just a few hundred meters south of the members of the Madeira island of Porto Santo. The island is about 2.8 km long, up to 1.5 km wide in north-south direction and reaches a height of 179 meters above the sea. The 33rd parallel north runs approximately through the center of the island. Like all the island of Porto Santo offshore islands, called Ilheus do Porto Santo, is also Ilhéu da Cal a Natura 2000 site.
