Production and representation

Calciumhydrogensulfit can be obtained by the action of sulfur dioxide in an aqueous lime solution. Is thus formed (besides calcium ) in flue gas desulfurization.

Use

Calciumhydrogensulfit is used as a food additive. It is here as an anti- oxidant, preservative and color stabilizer ( in particular for wine, and dried fruits ) used. Continue to use it in the form of an aqueous solution to dissolve the lignin in the wood pulp manufacturing, and as a bleaching agent ( discoloration of sponges ), as an anti- chlorine agent and a clearing agent for beverages.
