Calderstones House

Calderstones House in Calderstones Park in Liverpool (UK ) was established in 1828 by the ammunition manufacturers Joseph Need Walker. 1875 the estate of Charles MacIver was purchased for £ 52,000. MacIver was a prominent shipping magnate, the British and North American Royal Steam Packet Company founded with Samel Cunard, later known as the Cunard Line. MacIver moved in 1874 out of business and his sons Henry and Charles took over his business dealings. In 1902, the family Calderstones sold for £ 43,000 to the Liverpool Corporation. Today in the building, the Recreation and Open Spaces Department of Liverpool City Council is housed. It is a listed building and is a building of outstanding architectural and historical interest in the category II (Grade II) of the Statutory List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest listed.
