Caldwell County (Kentucky)

The Caldwell County is a county located in the U.S. state of Kentucky. In 2010, the County had 12,984 inhabitants and a population density of 14.4 inhabitants per square kilometer. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Princeton, which was named after Prince William, an early settler in the area. The county is one of the Dry counties, which means that the sale of alcohol is restricted or prohibited.

Geography

The County is located in western Kentucky, is in the south about 40 miles from Tennessee, located in the north-west about 35 miles from Illinois and the Ohio River and has an area of 902 square kilometers, of which three square miles are water. History

Caldwell County was formed on January 31, 1809 from parts of Livingston County. It was named after Senator and Lieutenant Governor of Kentucky John Caldwell.

According to the census in 2010 lived in Caldwell County 12,984 people in 5261 households. The population density was 14.4 inhabitants per square kilometer. In the 5261 households lived statistically 2.45 per person.
