Caldwell Edwards

Caldwell Edwards ( born January 8, 1841 in Sag Harbor, Suffolk County, New York, † July 23, 1922 ) was an American politician. Between 1901 and 1903 he represented the state of Montana in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Caldwell Edwards attended the common schools and then worked as a salesman and bookkeeper in retail. In 1864 he moved to Bozeman in Montana Territory. There he was engaged in farming and ran his own ranch. Politically, he joined the Populist Party on. This short-lived party was towards the end of the 19th century, especially among the farmers in the western United States appeal. Between March 4, 1901, the March 3, 1903 Edwards represented his state as a deputy in Congress. In 1902, he did not stand for re-election. After that, he still belonged until 1905 to the House of Representatives from Montana.

After his political activity Edwards committed himself again to his private affairs, especially his ranch. He died in 1922.
