Calendasco

Calendasco is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 2485 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Piacenza in Emilia -Romagna. The village is located approximately nine kilometers west-northwest of Piacenza. The northern boundary of the municipality is the Po, the eastern the Trebbia. Calendasco directly borders the provinces of Lodi and Pavia.

History

In Calendasco is originally a Roman foundation on the road from Plakentia (modern Piacenza ) to Ticinum, today's Pavia. But traces of settlements from the Copper Age and the Bronze Age are demonstrated. The castle dates from the 12th century.
