California State Route 142

The California State Route 142, just CA- 142 is a state highway in the U.S. state of California, which connects the cities of Brea and Chino Hills together. Most of the route is also known as Carbon Canyon Road, the eastern section as Chino Hills Parkway.

From the border between Orange County and San Bernardino County to Peyton Drive in Chino Hills, the road is designated as Scenic route. In addition, the California State Route 142 is also a popular shortcut between the Inland Empire Region and the economic centers in Brea and the surrounding Orange County. The road includes many tight curves, so it is not well suited for long vehicles such as tractor-trailers.

Course

The California State Route 142 begins in Brea California State Route 90 as Valencia Avenue. After a short distance in a northeasterly direction it leads from one intersection to the east, now under the name of Carbon Canyon Road. Thereafter, the Carbon Canyon Regional Park and the settlement of Olinda are happening. After the border between Orange and San Bernardino County State Route crosses the first district of the city of Chino Hills Sleepy Hollow, before further leads into nordwöstlicher direction in the city core. At an intersection State Route re-enters their street names and happens again in an easterly direction, as Chino Hills Parkway rest of the city. Finally, the road ends at California State Route 71 near the border of Chino.
