California State Route 56

The California State Route 56 (abbreviated CA 56) is a state highway in the U.S. state of California, which runs in a north -south direction.

The State Route begins at Interstate 5 in Carmel Valley and ends in Rancho Penasquitos on Interstate 15 In the initial planning to the CA 56 should continue to be built in east to California State Route 67. However, this was later discarded.

The CA 56 is often called Ted Williams Freeway to celebrate those born in San Diego baseball player Ted Williams.
