Calvin Bricker

Calvin David Bricker ( born November 3, 1884 in Toronto, † 24 April 1963 in Grenfell, Saskatchewan ) was a Canadian athlete who was successful before the First World War as a long jumper over the years.

He won two Olympic medals:

  • IV Summer Olympic Games in London in 1908: BRONZE with 7.08 m behind two Americans: Frank Irons ( gold with 7.48 m) and Dan Kelly ( silver with 7.09 meters ). In the triple jump with 14.10 meters he came in 4th place - for a medal he would have to jump exactly 20 cm further.
  • SILVER with 7.21 m behind the Americans Albert Gutterson ( gold with 7.60 m) and ahead of Norway Georg Åberg ( bronze with 7,18 m).

A national championship he could not win. It listed for him only three second places with modest sizes:
