Cama is a municipality in the district of Roveredo in the district Moesa the canton of Graubünden in Switzerland.

Geography

The municipality is located in southern Misox on both sides of the Moësa and consists of the two districts Al Punt and Norantola. Of the total municipal area of 1506 ha 905 ha of forest and woodland, 498 ha of unproductive area (mostly mountains), 63 ha of arable land and 40 ha settlement area.

To the municipality of Val Cama Cama belongs with its lovely mountain lake Lago di Cama. The valley is accessible only on foot. Marked mountain trails lead from here over the Lago di Sambroc and the Bocchetta de Cressim the Val d' Arbola ( Lostallo ), over the Bocchetta del notary to Italian Val Bodengo and on the Alpe Vazzola Val Leggia.

Population

The municipality belongs to the Italian-speaking municipalities in the canton of Grisons.

In 1990, still 5 persons and 3 Portuguese French people as the main language; 2000 gave each 11 persons Portuguese and Serbo-Croatian and 4 people French as the main language.

Religions - faiths

Originally, the entire population was Roman Catholic. By leaving the church and immigration from other regions, this has changed. Nevertheless, the vast majority is still Catholic. In 2000, there was 86.50 % Roman Catholic, 3% Protestant Reformed and 1% Old Catholic and Orthodox Christians. In addition, you will find 3% non-religious and 1:27 % Muslim. 4 % of the population did not respond to their creed.

Origin - Nationality

From the end of 2004 459 inhabitants are 388 ( = 84%) of Swiss citizens. At the last census 82 % were Swiss nationals. Among them were 15 dual citizen. The largest immigrant groups come from Italy and Portugal.
