Camarillo is a city in Ventura County in the U.S. state of California with 64 034 inhabitants (as of January 2006).

The name comes from the city of the great landowners Adolfo Camarillo, who successfully defended his property at 1850 against Anglo-American newcomers. About the U.S. Route 101 northbound from Los Angeles Camarillo is within 40 minutes driving time to reach - exit " Carmen " - or within 60 minutes from Santa Barbara on U.S. Route 101 southbound - exit " Las Posas ".

Camarillo is known in Southern California, especially among wealthy people for the Golf Club " Spanish Hills ", a golf course in the middle of the eponymous luxury residential area.
