Camerata Bariloche

Camerata Bariloche is a chamber music ensemble from Argentina. It was founded in 1967.

Foundation

The idea for the foundation came from the conductor Alberto Lysy, who also organized the "Festival de Música de Cámara " in Buenos Aires with local and foreign musicians. Many of these musicians took advantage of their stay in Argentina to give in Bariloche as lecturers master classes and workshops.

1967 Lysy organized a series of experiments with these musicians at the headquarters of the Fundación Bariloche, Villa Soria Moria in Llao Llao district and realized with the self-proclaimed " Camerata Bariloche " the first concert in the " Biblioteca Sarmiento de Bariloche " on 17 September 1967.

Originally, the Camerata Bariloche was funded by Fundación Bariloche, it was but a short time later financially independent.

Since its inception, the ensemble has realized more than 2500 concerts and completed about 25 international tours. Previously released 31 records and CD releases. The Camerata Bariloche in Argentina was awarded with the " Premio Konex de Platino ".

Directors

The first director was Alberto Lysy, he was followed by Rubén González and Elías Khayat, since 1992 is Fernando Hasaj the director. The ensemble consists of about 20 musicians.

Soloists

The Camerata Bariloche has played with famous soloists such as Martha Argerich, Gerardo Gandini, Antonio Janigro, Cho - Liang Lin, Yehudi Menuhin, Astor Piazzolla, Jean -Pierre Rampal, Ljerko Spiller, Karl Richter, Mstislav Rostropovich, Janos Starker, Jean -Yves Thibaudet, Maxim Vengerov and and Frederica von Stade.
