Cameron County (Pennsylvania)
Cameron County is a county located in the state of Pennsylvania in the United States. In the 2000 census, the county had 5,974 inhabitants and a population density of 6 people per square kilometer. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) Emporium.
History
The county was formed on March 29, 1860 and named after the U.S. Senator Simon Cameron ( 1799-1889 ).
Geography
The Cameron County has an area of 1,032 square kilometers, of which 4 square kilometers of water surface. It is bordered to the northwest by McKean County, to the northeast Potter County, on the east by Clinton County, to the south by Clearfield County and on the west by Elk County.
