Cameroon men's national volleyball team

The Cameroonian national volleyball team of men is a selection of the best Cameroonian players representing the Fédération Camerounaise De Volley -Ball in international tournaments and international matches.

History

World cup

In the only previous participation in a volleyball World Cup Cameroon took the 15th place in 1990.

Olympic games

Cameroon has never qualified for the Olympics.

African Cup of Nations

After two fourth places at the Volleyball Africa Championships in 1971 and 1983, the Cameroonian first time in 1987 reached the final, where they lost hosts Tunisia. As the Tunisians were missing two years later, Cameroon was a final victory against Algeria for the first time African champions. In 1991 it was enough for the defending only to fourth place. 1995 and 1997 there were two more playoff defeats to Egypt and Tunisia. After the fourth, 1999, the Cameroonian brought in 2001 against hosts Nigeria for the second time the continental title. In the last three tournaments they were each others.

World Cup

At the World Cup 1989 Cameroon was eighth.

World League

The World League was previously held without Cameroonian participation.
