Camill Heller

Camille Heller ( born September 26, 1823 in Teplitz, Bohemia, † February 25, 1917 in Innsbruck ) was an Austrian zoologist.

Heller studied medicine and zoology in Vienna and in 1849 received his doctorate there in medicine. From 1858 to 1863 he was professor of zoology and comparative anatomy at the University of Krakow. From 1863 to 1894 he taught as a professor of zoology at the University of Innsbruck.

He examined Crustacea (crustaceans ), both in the Vienna Natural History Museum as well as during a Erdumseglung 1857 to 1859 aboard the frigate Novara, and a North Pole expedition on board the research vessel S / X Admiral Tegetthoff.
